OKOBAH RESTORES ELECTRICITY IN NDOBU COMMUNITY

The President of Okowa Legacy Group, who is also the Chairman of Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, has within the week single handedly off set the back-log of electricity bill owed the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company.

Investigation by Ika Weekly Newspaper reporters revealed that  the acute blackout experienced for over six months by the residents of the Ndobu quarters in Igbodo kingdom, Ika North East LGA of Delta State, has become a thing of the past, courtesy of Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah who stepped in to restore electricity supply to the community.

According to sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the community was disconnected by the authorities of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) over six months ago due to accumulated bills running into huge amount of money, which Dr. (Mrs.) Okobah, has settled, in order for members of the community to enjoy electricity supply after several months of blackout.

The America trained physician Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, while handing over the largesse to the beneficiaries, noted that it was inhuman for people to stay without light.

Speaking to some of the elders and members of the community, she said, “I have to show sympathy to all of you for being in darkness for a couple of months, I was not aware until Independent Day when I visited and was told that you people where disconnected as a result of unpaid bill”.

Continuing, she said that she felt so worried and was moved to respond in paying off the debt, because it is difficult to reach everybody to give them money, stressing that she is not used to making empty promises of raise false hopes, explaining that when a community one belongs to has problems or needs, one, you should try to help.

“The power re-connection in few weeks will reduce the dependency on generators to execute domestic and commercial activities” she added.

Speaking further, Dr. (Mrs.) Okobah urged the people to ascribe the gesture to His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for His prosperity for all Deltans Agenda; saying, “you should thank Governor Okowa for giving me the opportunity to serve and for His SMART Agenda programme”. She enjoined them to support the governor because, “ He will always ensure your well-being and prosperity and lead you to the promised land” She assured.

Responding after receiving the largesse from Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, the beneficiaries who couldn’t suppress their tear of joy while narrating their ordeal in the past commended and prayed for the philanthropist for coming to their aid. They described her as a virtuous lady and leader whom the community will never forget, saying that they can never forget all that she has been doing for them including the hospital she provided for them free of charge. They prayed God to bless her continually. Members of the community also promised to rally round Governor Okowa for  his re-election in 2019.
