OKOH, ELEKEOKWURI CLINCH PDP DTHA TICKETS

The Members representing  Ika North East and Ika South Local governments at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.  Anthony Emeka Elekeokwuri and Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh have both secured the PDP tickets in their bid for a 2nd term in office.

They secured the tickets after emerging victorious at the primary election held on Thursday 4th October 2018.

In Ika North East, it was a smooth sail for Hon. Elekeokwuri who was retuned unopposed to hoist the party flag ahead of the 2019 general election.

The lawmaker secured the total 157 votes of accredited delegates and was declared winner by the returning officer, Mr. Otalekor Oke.

In Ika South, it was a three horse race which saw the incumbent Hon. Festus Okoh clinch the ticket with 94 votes, beating the 2nd runner up, Amb. Paul  Alika who pulled 55votes, with Mr. Nduka Omodon pulling 4 votes and 4 void votes.

The returning officer declared Hon. Festus Okoh winner of the election which was a four horse race prior to the stepping down of Comr. Chief Dennis Araro who stepped down for the incumbent and eventual Winner Hon. Okoh few hours to the election.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri, appreciated the party hierarchy, starting with the PDP Chairman in Ika North East Local Government, Chief Godwin Ogadi, other leaders, the youths and constituents for electing him as the candidate to represent the Party, assuring them that PDP will win the election come 2019.

He posited that Governor Okowa will be returned in 2019, averring that he and other candidates of the Party will deliver at the general elections. He appreciated everyone for their support, charging them to work towards maximum victory in 2019.

Similarly, Hon Festus Okoh (Chuky Dandy), speaking with the press described the Primary election in Ika South as a free and fair process.  He expressed his happiness at being returned as the candidate of the party. He appreciated the delegates and his fellow aspirants, disclosing that there is no winner or loser.

He appealed for the corporation of other aspirants nothing that they are all one. He opined that going into the main election to face opposition party, he is open to work with them for the interest of the Party.
