HON. OKOH HOSTS NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN SOCIETIES

As various groups acquaint themselves with the new executive of Ika South Local Government Council, it was the turn of National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Ika South Chapter to pay the Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Victor Okoh a courtesy visit. The visit took place at the office of the Chairman recently.

Leading the women, the Acting President, Dr. (Mrs.) Pauline Tibi congratulated him on his new position.

Dr. (Mrs.) Tibi disclosed that the goal of the group is to partner with federal, state and local governments in initiating programmes that have positive impacts in the lives of women within various communities.

“This is a way of contributing our quota to the effort of the Delta State Government in bringing development to our immediate communities. National Council Women Societies is a Non Governmental Organization which was designed and established to channel social relief packages and infrastructural development facilities to women at the grassroots” she stated.

She opined that their contributions will help the chairman in his efforts and contributions in areas of conflict resolution, job security, wealth creation and awareness. She then sought for the co-operation of Hon. Okoh, to enable them carry out their projects.

Responding, Hon. Okoh commended the National Council Women Societies   good initiatives, assuring them that he will lend his support in reaching out to women in the various communities. He said it is his duty to see that everyone is carried along, including the women.
