A pressure group known as Okowa Legacy Group, with the main aim of highlighting and showcasing the activities and achievements of His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State to the country through creating awareness in the print, electronic and social media platform, was inaugurated at Igbodo, Ika North East LGA of Delta State, on Wednesday October 4, 2017, by the Dr.(Mrs.) Isioma Okobah Foundation.

In a brief remark, Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, the founder of Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah Foundation and Convener of the day’s event welcomed and thanked all that honoured her invitation for the event. She informed the gathering that the Okowa legacy Group is meant to highlight and showcase the achievements of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART Agenda program which he promised Deltans during his campaign. Continuing, Dr. (Mrs) Isioma Okobah took time to explain the full meaning of the acronym SMART in order for the people to assess the performance of the governor within the few years of his administration. Saying, that His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is the first illustrious Ika son to go to the Government House as the Executive Governor of Delta State. She noted that everyone present at the event can attest to the fact that the governor has performed creditably well and as such his achievements needs to be highlighted, hence what the Okowa Legacy Group stands for; is highlighting His Excellency’s achievements, all he has done in the past two years and what he will continue to do for the next six years as the governor of Delta State.

Speaking further, Dr. (Mrs.) Okobah, reminded the gathering of the promises the governor made to the people of Igbodo community when he came to campaign for votes, which was the SMART Agenda. She asked to know from the people present the full meaning of SMART, during a question and answer session, thereby informing the people more about the SMART Agenda program; which means;

S= strategic Wealth Creation Project and provision of Jobs for all Deltans.
M=Meaningful peace building platform aimed at political/social stability.
A=Agricultural reform and accelerated industrialization.
R=Relevant Health and education policies.
T=Transformed environment through urban renewal.

After analyzing the SMART agenda programme individually, everyone agreed that the governor is indeed working and his laudable achievements needs to be showcased to the world and also be encouraged and supported to continue the good works to the next six years.

High point of the ceremony was the formal inauguration of the Okowa Legacy Group, powered by Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah; with the mandate of highlighting and showcasing the works and achievements of our hardworking governor within the past few years of his administration.

Mr. Johnson Miti, the vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ika North East, commended Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah for her initiative which is meant to project the performances and achievements of His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to the larger society. He encouraged all Deltans to join hands with our amiable governor in achieving his sole desire which is, “Prosperity for all Deltans”. Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, at the event gave the youths of Igbodo kingdom, the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira, and also gave each of the six quarters of Igbodo kingdom Fifty Thousand Naira.

Personalities at the event include; Deacon Matthew Okwaje, Mr. Abel Okafor, Dr. Ndu Okonye, Chief Robert Agwaife, Hon. Ihenme, Dame. P.N Iyasere, Barr. Christopher Okobah, Chief M. Egwabor, Chief Paul Obuseh, Elder . E. Egbuchinem, Hon. Ben Egbuchinem, Mrs. Ikem, Hon. Aleh Chief Frank Chukas, Mr. Uche Azi Mr. Steve E. M. Ashien and Igbodo women cultural dance group, among many others.
