The Ika National Hall was filled to capacity recently as the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities Ika Chapter held its end of year get-together
In a chat with newsmen, the Chairman of the group, Comrade John Paul stated that the fundamental reason for establishing the association was to unite and foster interaction among persons with disabilities to collectively champion their course in order to give them a sense of belonging in Ika nation. He disclosed that since the founding of the association that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had been the one sponsoring their end of year party, and meeting every of their needs whenever he is called on.
Continuing, he said words were enough to thank the governor for his goodness towards them, saying that they do not lack for his sake. He prayed God to continue to uplift Okowa.
Comrade Paul also appreciated the member representing Ika nation in the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Barr. Victor Nwokolo, for supporting them whenever they come to him and thanking him especially for adding colour to this year’s party by donating mini bags of Beans shared among them.
He equally thanked Ika representatives State House of Assembly member, Hon. Festus Okoh, also known as Chuky Dandy, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri, and the chairmen of Ika Local Governments; Hon. Victor Okoh, Hon. Victor Ebonka and the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Barr. Chinedu Ebie for their support towards their welfare and prayed God to bless them.

Comrade Paul lamented their challenges as unemployment for the graduates and empowerment to aid the skilled persons among them to be self-reliant.
The Secretary of the group, Comrade Njeoarima who doubles as the chairman, Ika North East Physically Challenged also thanked Okowa, Nwokolo for loving and caring for them. He said that they celebrated the Christmas and New Year big for the fact that the governor had provided so much for them.
He added that Okowa’s love for them can better be explained when he squatted down to the height of a disabled person in order to have a photograph.
