BLACK SUNDAY AS ONE-WAY WATER TANK DRIVER CRUSHES TWO TO DEATH

A water tank driver who was said to be plying one-way has crushed two men on motorcycle to death in Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The sad incident which was said occurred at about 4pm on Sunday February 4, 2024, along New Benin/Asaba Express Road, Umunede, attracted the attention of many as the two victims, Mr. Onyekachukwu Ottah and Mr. Oluma Andrew were well known retired teachers, and both were said to have attended the University of Port Harcourt for their Sandwich programme.
Mr. Onyekachukwu Ottah was an indigene of Umunede, while Mr. Oluma Andrew was a native of Akumazi Kingdom but lived at Abiamuwe Street, Umunede.
Explaining to Ika Weekly Newspaper reporter, an eyewitness said the water tank driver who was plying one-way was at top speed when he rammed into the two sexagenarians who were on their motorcycle plying on their lane.
The driver of the water tank truck was said to have fled the accident scene when he discovered that the two men were motionless.
The death of the duo is said to remain shocking as many who saw them earlier that day were speechless and wandered in deep thought when they saw the two men lying dead.
At the time of filing this report, the lifeless bodies of the two friends were said to have been deposited in Kifa mortuary, and the burial announcement is yet to be made by their respective families.
