ONONYE, OKOBAH SUE FOR IMPROVED PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN DELTA STATE

The Delta State Commissioner for Health Dr. Mordi Ononye and The Chairman Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency and Executive Assistant to the Governor on E-Health/Other Health Matters Dr. Isioma Okobah, has called on stakeholders in the Local Government primary health care service delivery system, for concerted effort towards improving the delivery of health care services in the state.

The commissioner made the call while declaring open, the Primary Health Care Review Meeting/Orientation Workshop For Stakeholders in The Local Government Primary Health Care Service Delivery System held in Asaba.

The health commissioner who was ably represented by Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, remarked that the primary health care under one roof was achievable without any financial hardship on the beneficiaries due to the health policy of the Governor Okowa’s SMART agenda.

The chairman of the Primary Health Care Development Agency who was at the event on dual capacity, also disclosed that Governor Okowa was so passionate about health care services and as a medical doctor, the Governor made sure there was health for all Deltans and providing quality health care services without any cost on the beneficiaries through the Contributory Health Insurance Scheme.

Dr. Okobah said the Primary Health Care Development Agency and the Contributory Health Insurance Commission would work in synergy to achieve the goal of the Primary Helath Care under one roof and the Universal Health Coverage in the state.

While commending the Governor and the stakeholders for their efforts so far, Dr. Okobah urged the stakeholders not to relent adding that all hands must be on deck to make Delta state come top in health care delivery services.
