OROGODO RIVER CLAIMS ANOTHER LIFE

An ugly incident occurred while it rained in the night of Monday, the 23rd of September 2019.along Osunhor by Iregwa Street when a young boy of about 19 years allegedly slipped into a flooded gutter and was carried off into Orogodo River.

Story has it that the unfortunate victim (name withheld), a boy who recently relocated to Agbor from Lagos to write an exam, worked with a merry bet shop to be able to earn his living and was heading home that fateful night with a friend named Destiny when the unfortunate incident happened. According to reports, Destiny’s friend never reported the incident nor felt concerned until the next morning when inquiries and search for the victim became intensified and police officers from Agbor Division waded into the matter.

On Tuesday morning, the search for the body of the young victim ensued and police officers queried the said friend Destiny on his side of his story. That was when he (Destiny) revealed that they were both heading home when the deceased fell into the gutter and that there was nothing he could do to save him at that moment.

He added that there was a laundry man nearby the scene of the incident whom he reported to immediately but there was nothing they could do to save the situation. The Agbor Police Division is currently investigating the matter and information has it as at the time of our going to the press that Destiny was still in their custody.

However, there were speculations of the lifeless body of the deceased being seen floating on the Orogodo River surface on the morning of Wednesday, September 25.

At as the time of publication, the information is yet to be confirmed.
