The Provost, College of Education (COE), Agbor, Dr. Joseph O. Ukadike has stated that the dream for the College to be turned into University is still on course.
The Provost, Dr. Joseph O. Ukadike made this known while re-assuring the people of Ika nation of his administration’s commitment to work towards the growth and development of the institution. His words, “since I assumed office as the Provost of the college, I have continued to put in my best to ensure the growth and development of the staff, students and the college.
For sure, our dream and the expectation of Ika people that the college should be converted into a university is still on course and hopefully it will come to pass.
However, my administration has witnessed lots of changes. Through my effort, the former Military President of this country, Gen. Ibrahim Babaginda has built a building for the college and named it IBB complex. To me, it is one of the greatest achievements I have recorded in the college. We have attracted Tetfund projects such as the ICT.
Currently, we have other self projects going on in the college. The cleanliness of the college is another achievement, also a prominent Ika son has donated mowing tractor to keep the college clean. We have recorded tremendous promotions among the staff. Courses were accredited in the degree section and soon more will be accredited. We have also recorded lots of PhD holders. Sincerely, we are making progress all round and I give thanks to God Almighty”.
Dr. Ukadike used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding him worthy to be appointed as Provost of the College of Education, Agbor and the opportunity given to him to serve in his administration. According to him, “our amiable Governor Okowa has done very well. God has already ordained that his second term ambition will be realized”. He appealed to Okowa not to forget to use his good office to ensure that the institution is turned into university of education.
