OWA-ALERO SECONDARY COMMERCIAL SCHOOL, RENAMED AFTER ERIGBUEM

Owa-Alero Secondary Commercial School, Owa-Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area has been renamed after the Late Keonyerinieze of Owa Kingdom, Chief Sir Ignatius Igabor Erigbuem.
While applauding the successful renaming of the school, the Principal, Barrister Samuel N. Ehikwe said he has received the letter for approval dated July 10, 2023, changing the school name to I. I. Erigbuem Secondary Commercial School, Owa-Alero.

According to him, “I was long informed about the decision to rename Owa-Alero Secondary Commercial School. The decision was reached during the meeting of Owa-Alero Development Union held on September 15, 2022.
“In all, it is a welcome development, because the new name I. I. Erigbuem is a household name to be proud of. The renaming of the school is to honor Chief Erigbuem to keep his good name alive for his good work which speak volumes.
“Without mincing words, Chief Erigbuem, even in death is a living legend. He has made tremendous impact and many lives have been affected positively even across Ika nation who are all speaking well of him.

“There is no better life to live than to live for others. Erigbuem lived a life of sacrifice and will forever live on in the hearts of many from generation to generation,” he said
Barrister Ehikwe said the letter of approval which was signed by the Director Inspectorate, and Quality Assurance Department, Mrs. C.U Ojumah for the Honourable Commissioner Secondary Education is with immediate effect with the admission of new students with the new name of the school.
