OWA-ALIZOMOR COMMUNITY APOLOGIZES TO OKOWA

Members of Owa-Alizomor Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State are have apologized to His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa for saying that he has failed them.

This is sequel to the front page publication in Ika Weekly Newspaper, edition No 169 of Saturday June 27 –Saturday July 4, 2020 with the subject “OKOWA HAS FAILED US – Okparan-Uku” wherein it was disclosed that at the meeting convened by the Okparan-Uku and all indigenes of Owa-Alizomor where issues that border on the community were disclosed and deliberated upon on Saturday June 20, 2020 at the Hall of the council of Elders in  Owa-Alizomor.

The Okparan-Uku has denied using the word as contained in the publication but said that what he meant was that the government had not tarred any road in Owa-Alizomor community.

Based on this, an effort was made by Okparan-uku to convey another meeting with the community members which took place on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the same Hall where passionate appeals were made by the entire members of the  community to the State Government to come and tar their roads.

In the said publication, it was also wrongly reported that Owa-Alizomor Community Health facility was facilitated by Hon Tony Emeka Elekeokwuri, member representing Ika North East constituency,

It was also revealed at the meeting that the Owa-Alizomor community Health facility was built by the Delta State Government under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and not facilitated by Hon. Elekeokuri as reported. The  Health facility building project was awarded to Hon. Princewill Onuodafin, SA to the Governor on Youth Development and Mrs. MaryJane Usuegbu.

The  community also used the medium to appeal to the State Government to kindly remember to help re-build the block of nine classrooms at Owa-Alizomor Secondary school which was razed down by fire some time ago.
