The Obi of Owa kingdom and Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor II in the company of the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa amidst other top government functionaries commissioned Fountain-Head Resort, the first of its kind in Ika land.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor expressed satisfaction over the development and applauded the CEO Fountain-Head Resort, saying it is the first of its kind in Ika land, and called on other illustrious sons and daughters of the Land to emulate him.
His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Okowa said the establishment of the resort will create job opportunities for many both directly and indirectly. He added that with people like the CEO of the resort, the development of the state will be equal to none.
The Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM. Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor in a brief interview with our correspondent expressed gratitude to the God for massive turnover of development in his kingdom. He said the Melekwe’s have indeed made him a proud king.
The CEO of Fountain-Head Resort, Deacon, and Mrs. Collins Melekwe appreciated the esteemed presence of the Governor of the State, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, and other top government functionalists who honoured their invitation.
Dcn. Melekwe disclosed that the idea of the resort was his father’s vision, saying that his father of blessed memory had innovative ideas and loved development, maintaining that setting up Fountain-Head is keeping his father’s vision alive.
Deacon and Mrs. Melekwe said their desire is to bring in more development to Owa-Ekei, Ika land, and Delta State in general, maintaining that with the love of the state at heart, they are going to do more.
He appreciated the Governor’s developmental strides in the state especially in the aspect of road constructions, noting that the establishment of the resort is a way of complimenting the Governor’s efforts.
In his words, “Like Fountain-Head which means Root, everyone should endeavor to remember their root. Whoever and whatever you are, you have a root”, he said.
While calling on all to return to their root, he appreciated the love of his beloved mother for Owa-Ekei and the positive impact she made in his life which has led to his becoming who he is in life today.
