PARALEGAL OF CWSI, PAY COURTESY CALL ON THE AREA COMMANDER

An association known as Paralegal of Centre for Women Studies and Intervention (CWSI), made up of experienced career officers (Men and Women) who are determined to ensure vialable and sustainable development at the three tiers of government recently paid a courtesy call on the Area Commander, Agbor Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

In an address presented at the occasion, Lady Ofuasia Agnes, the President of the Delta State Chapter of the Association, thanked the Area Commander for the quick approval of the visit which shows the readiness of the Police authorities to partner with them as a body. Continuing, she stated that they were at the command to formally congratulate ACP Chinyelu Ikejiani, on her assumption of office as the first Area Commander, Agbor Police Command and to also formally introduce the Paralegal of CWSI to the commander.

Speaking further, Lady Ofuasia, said the association which came on board in 2004, has remain the apex and authoritative voice for all both at the Federal, State and Local Government level, saying, “This has made it possible for us to be fully involved in the socio-economic, political and cultural development of our great country Nigeria”. She emphasized that the body of Paralegal are the foundation of the society, the Character and Orientation, which define the pace of development, resolution of conflicts, sensitization, education on fundamental creative talents and labour power. Continuing, the Association President requested the Area Commander to use her good office to partner with Paralegal of Centre for Women Studies and Intervention, by involving them in all their programme and activities as it relates to the body which they represent; to involve the association in resolution of conflicts among members of the society, and sensitization and education of the masses on fundamental rights, limitations and security matters.

Explaining that the body through their advocacy outreach is seriously against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation Otherwise known as female circumcision, wife battering, selling of babies, sexual abuse against minors, wicked practices melted on widows; and other such negative vices.

Lady Ofuasia, further disclosed that the body has clinics around Boji Boji Metropolis, namely; Boji Boji Clinic at No. 26 Melekwe Street Boji Boji Owa, while Ime-Obi Clinic is at No. 100 Obi Ikenchukwu Road, Ime-Obi. Speaking, she said these are places where they expect members of the society that feel oppressed to come for them to be attended to, saying, that they also have branches at Ogwashi-Uku, Asaba, Obiarukwu, while the headquarters is in Abuja. She solicited that the Command should direct all correspondence and dealings with the Paralegal of CWSI through their President, stressing that it will be greatly appreciated if their prayers are granted.

The President on behalf of the association assured the Area Commander of their loyalty and support at all time.

The Area Commander, ACP Chinyelu Ikejiani, appreciated members of the Paralegal Centre for Women Studies and Intervention, whom she stated the Command will be happy to work in synergy with in order to have a better society. Continuing, she noted that most parents have derailed in the proper upbringing of their children and this has led many of the children to be exposed to most of these negative vices. She charged the Paralegal CWSI to take their advocacy campaigns to the schools, hospitals, churches, markets, palaces of the various traditional rulers etc in order for the masses to be properly educated on the various issues affecting the society negatively. The Area Commander assured the body, that her office is always open for them and urged them to always remain resolute in their struggle for the rights of the oppressed. She also enjoined them to be prayerful and steadfast with God in order to achieve their objectives.
