These were the words Delta State Governor,   Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa  ably represented by the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu during the commissioning of Park Vega Water Park at Ewuru, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday 4th December, 2020 noted that Park Vega Water park has brought a  lot of transformation to Ewuru community.

He noted that the project is in line with the Smart Agenda of Governor Ifeanyi  Okowa’s led administration more so that the administration has provided the  necessary infrastructures and support to private sectors to make Delta State great.

In his words, “This project falls in line with the Smart Agenda of this administration.  By investing in this environment, they have created wealth for a vast majority of the people.

“By creating a facility for people to unwind, they have also created a veritable avenue for peace and overall good health condition for the people who will come to relax. This park has also helped in the transformation of this community and has opened it up for further investments.

“Often times, our people invest in different places far from. But the Founder of Park Vega have taken the pains to bring this development back home to Agbor and for that they deserve our support and patronage. They would have made more money, if they had taken this to any of the major cities.

“The success of this water park can only be guaranteed if we take out time to patronize it. Let’s make it a point of duty at regular intervals to makes use of the opportunity that this water park presents” he said.

He applauded the efforts of the true daughter of Ika nation, Dr. Nancy Orji for conceiving such a brilliant idea of a water park in Ewuru, Agbor, maintaining that such a water park for now is seen only in Delta State. He urged other investor to emulate the efforts of those who are contributing to development of their communities and Delta as a whole.

Earlier, in her speech, the CEO and MD of the Park noted that it is the only water park in  Africa not only Nigeria, but the entire West African, built up to International Standard.

According to her, Park Vega is a tourist attraction and core element of the tourism value chain maintaining that it’s a great motivation for tourism trips.

In her words, “This water park will revitalize Agbor’s local economy and by extension, the economy of Delta State by pulling tourists across Nigeria and West Africa, thus increasing revenue for local and state governments, business and resident will also provide direct and indirect job opportunities.

“This Park designed for families, couples and individuals and it provides facilities for wave pool, adult slides, swim up bar and colorful aqua tower and splash pad for children”.

High point of the Water Park unveiling ceremony was a tour round the park by Engr. Ikechukwu Orji.

Present at the ceremony were, the Dein of Agbor kingdom, HRM Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi 1 in company of his chiefs, the Chairman PDP Delta North, Deacon Moses Idu, the Chairman Ika South Local Government Council, Hon. Barr. Victor Okoh, the Chairman Ika North East Local Government Council, Hon. Barr. Victor Ebonka.

Others were, the Hon. Representing Ika South Constituency, Hon. Festus Okoh, members of Onu Ika led by Daniel Osifor, Chief Elder, John Ehikwe, Dr. Shadrack Omumu, Rev. Fr. Augustine Abude, Rev. Fr. Fidelis Uwakwe, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Tibi, Prince Adams Gbenoba and Dr. Mrs. Florence Omumu, Dr. (Mrs) Pauline Tibi, the publisher Ika Weekly newspaper, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ashien, Mr. S.K Ofie, elders of Ewuru community, Chief (Mrs.)  Ugbetuo and a host of others.
