PARK VEGA WATERPARK TO BOOST FUN, ECONOMY IN IKA LAND

The people of Ika, in the Northern part of Delta State, are rounding off the year 2020 with excitement and celebration. The reason for the celebration is, however, not limited to the Christmas and New Year Yuletide. The Ika people are celebrating the milestone of having the largest waterpark in West Africa, Park Vega Waterpark,  launched on their soil, right in the heart of Agbor.

A Waterpark is a type of amusement park that features water play areas and facilities such as water slides for adults, and children, a wave pool that mimics the waves of the ocean, Splash Pad for toddlers to play, Black Hole, and Multi-Surf slides among other facilities.

The opening of the Waterpark will enable the people of Ika and nearby communities such as Benin, Obiaruku, Asaba, Onitsha, amongst others to have a taste of a world-class Waterpark. Park Vega Waterpark opens every day and during festive seasons.

For those who love to have fun at the beach, the wave pool which has 500,000 gallons of water mimics the ocean waves. The wave pool in Park Vega Waterpark is the largest pool in West Africa.The Waterpark is expected to attract fun-seekers from within and outside Delta, and Nigeria.

The fun Waterpark is expected to have rippling economic value to Delta State, especially the Ika land, and bordering towns.

There are various sectors in the community that will benefit from the Waterpark’s operationssuch as the transport sector made up of bikers popularly called Okada Riders, cab businesses, and bus transporters within and outside Ika land. They will reap from the upsurge in customer patronage.

Big and small-time traders, even hawkers, in various markets stand to benefit as demands for their displayed wares goes on the high. Artisans such as welders, phone repair technicians, and bricklayers to mention a few are expected to also smile home.

Park Vega is located in Nmordi Street, Ewuru Road, off KM 68, Benin-Asaba Highway, Expressway, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. Agbor is a transit town that connects South Western to South Eastern, Nigeria. The Waterpark is close to Benin, Asaba and Warri airports.

Aside from the overwhelming reception from the Ika people, the government, state and local, have shown support by creating an enabling environment for the hospitality sector to thrive through the construction of road networks, provision of security, and the refurbishing of the Asaba Airport, among others.

Park Vega Waterpark is a member of IAAPA (International Association of Amusements & Attractions) and WWA (World Waterparks Association). The Waterpark is an international standard waterpark.
