In a bid to strengthen the bond of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), particularly among youths, a formidable group identified as, “College of Youth Leaders”, has been established.
The group which aims at uniting youths of Ika Federal Constituency is being coordinated by Mr. Emeke Asiwe and has on Monday, April 16, 2018 commenced the inauguration of its chapters across the various Wards in Ika South Constituency.
The College of Leaders from both sides of the local government areas of Ika Federal Constituency stormed Ward 2 to inaugurate 35 College of Youth leaders charged with the responsibility of ensuring peace and victory for PDP during and after the 2019 general election.
The inaugurated members of the aforementioned group were also charged to work relentlessly to reconcile aggrieved members of the party for the smooth re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second tenure.
Speaking at the occasion, the LGA PDP Chairman, Hon. Collins Bello, congratulated the College of Youth Leaders. He explained that the task ahead of them is of great importance to the party as such they should do the job wholeheartedly as the party will reward their good works.
“We don’t want faction in PDP neither do we need opposition parties because Ika South and Delta State are all for PDP. Our man of the moment is Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and by the grace of God he will be re-elected come 2019 for him to continue his good works,” Hon. Bello added.
Also speaking, the convener of the aforementioned group in Ika Federal constituency, Mr. Emeka Asiwe, pointed out that there is no division among youths of both local government areas, adding that their principal, Governor Okowa as a grassroot politician has shown the capability to be re-elected for a second tenure. He urged the College of Youth leaders to discharge the assignment given to them diligently.
The Ward 2 PDP youth leader, Evans Morka popularly known as Pastor, in his vote of thanks appreciated the leaders for the new responsibilities given to his fellow youths, saying that this has gone a long way to prove that the party is responsive and now carrying the youths along.
Other PDP stakeholders in attendance during the inauguration include, Hon. Festus Okoh, Deacon Innocent Akpakwueze Ayuba, Comr. Dele Akpatashi, Hon. Cosmos Igbenije, Barr. Hope Emioma, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Tibi, Hon. Okoh (Hero), Mr. Peter Idion, Mr. Jude Onya and a host of others.
