May we meet you sir?
I am Engr. Ngwokor Teddy Jackson. I was born into the family of late Chief Superintendent of Police, Ngwokor Nnamdi of Oba quarters, in Umunede, in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. My mother, Mrs. Mabel Ngwokor hails from Ekuku-Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area of the state. I am the second child in the family of six children born about 37 years ago. Currently, I am contesting for the Chairmanship seat of Ika North East Local Government Council under the platform of All Progressives Congress, (APC.)
How was your growing up?
My growing up was great. I grew up under the tutelage of my loving and caring parents. My father’s regular transfer took us out of Ika Land, but, in some occasions we visited home. l grew up in the midst of people from different tribes and religion. My father’s regular transfers took us to Benin City, Ife, Warri, Agbor, among other areas. During these periods, I learned a lot of how to respect people. That virtue of showing respect to anyone I come across in life has truly been helping me in life.
How about your educational background?
As a son of a police man who is always on transfer, I did my primary education in about six primary schools. However, I will mention only the primary school I started with and the one I finished from. I began my primary education at Police Children Primary School, at Ogida Barracks, Benin City, Edo State and rounded up after many transfers of my father, at Agbor Model Primary School, Agbor in 1993. Thereafter, I proceeded to Ika Grammar School where I read up to JSS3 (1994-1997) before leaving for Federal Government College, Warri (1998-2000). I obtained my first school leaving certificate at Christ the King College, Warri in 2001 before proceeding to the University of Port-Harcourt, River State in 2004, where I read Petroleum and Gas Engineering. I graduated in 2011.
What do you do to earn a living?
I am into Oil and Gas business. I am the Managing Director, Mab-man Oil and Gas, with offices in Umunede and Warri.
Why are you going into politics?
I am into politics because I want to help develop my people and community. Presently, our people are suffering as a result of the failure of political leadership. Our political leaders in Ika land have not lived up to the expectations of our people; hence, there is a yearning for change and I want to be part of that possible change. I want to put smiles on the faces of my people. This is why I am doing my best to get their mandate to serve them at the local government level as the Chairman.
Why are you contesting under APC?
I am contesting under the platform of All Progressives Congress, (APC) because the party believes in internal democracy. It is focus and is better organized.
What have you done for the people of your local government that will make them cast their votes for you?
I have helped many of our youths to get job in the private sector. I have equally employed some of our youths in my company. I have also been involved in community and humanitarian services, which I know is a boost to my political aspiration.
Can you list some of the things you will do for your people when voted into office?
If voted into office, my number one concern will be the people. The duty of any good leader is the welfare of his people. I am passionate about the plight of our people, I want to put smiles on their faces, I want to serve and not to be served. I want to develop the grassroot. In doing this, I will work with the various community development associations and groups who are committed to the growth and development of our people. I will be a working chairman, going out to villages and towns to serve them. I will listen to the yearnings and demands of our people. It’s time we go back to the drawing board and do the needful. I am ready to serve my people should they choose me as their next council chairman
You are from the same local government with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon Victor Nwokolo, Hon Tony Elekeokwuri, and other PDP leaders and members. Don’t you think you will lose?
I am not bothered about the PDP and its leaders; all I am seeing is victory. They are the ones to fear us in APC, because they have not lived up to our expectations. APC is taking over Ika North East in the next council election, we are ready for the election and we shall win by the special grace of God.
Do you have a political godfather or mentor?
No. I don’t believe in god fatherism. I only admire good and successful politicians. One of such politicians is the former governor of Kano State and now a serving Senator, Alhaji Ibrahim Kwakwanso.
Has APC lived up to expectations at the federal level?
Yes. APC has better things to offer Nigerians than the PDP. We should be patient with the President Muhammadu Buhari government for he has good plans for all Nigerians.
Are you married?
Yes. I am married with children.
How do you relax?
I love playing basketball
What is your perception about life?
Life is simple, we should take things easy. Let us love and help one another. Above all, we should fear God and obey His commandments.
Are you a Christian?
Yes, a Roman Catholic
Any regret in life?
No. God has been good to me.
What is your advice for Ika youths?
They should be focused and law abiding citizens. They should not sell their votes for a mere pot of porridge. And to the entire Ika people, they should say “no” to bad governance and embrace positive change. They should support APC in the next local government election in Ika North East Local Government.
Is APC on ground in Ika North East?
Yes, my party is fully on ground in Ika North East. Our LGA Chairman, Mr. Sunny Onyejose is a seasoned and experienced politician. Our ward chairmen are all grassroot politicians who are not minnows in politics. Our members are scattered in different communities in the local government. They are all yearning for positive change and are ready to have their party in power in the next council election. APC believes in internal democracy and positive development, hence, we want to take over the governance of Ika North East Local Government Council in order to better the lives of our people. We are confident of victory, because the people are strongly yearning for positive change which APC is out to promote. I, therefore implore our people to make the right choice in the next council election in Ika North East by supporting APC.
