PROPHET IGBODO, OTHERS COMMEND OKOWA, AT EWURU

Prophet Joesph Igbodo, the General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, Agbor, and some members of Ewuru-Agbor Community have commended Delta State Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and one of his aides Hon. Sunny Ogwu, for the construction of a solar powered water borehole at the premises of Uweifo Orthopaedic Nursing Home, Ewuru.

Prophet Igbodo made the commendation during a visit to the orthopaedic nursing home recently.

Speaking with newsmen, the prophets of God appreciated the State Government for putting the borehole in the compound of the Orthopaedic home, emphasizing that indeed Okowa is working, noting that the laudable works and projects which the State Governor has executed since he assumed office, are a living testimony of his vision to better the lives of the masses. In the words of the prophet, “the transformation in Ika Land is quite visible for all to see, no person can claim to be blind at all these things that Governor Okowa is doing”.

He urged Deltans to continually pray for the State Governor, saying that he is one of the persons who always pray for the state helm’sman. Continuing, he also appreciated Hon. Sunny Ogwu, the Chairman of the State Universal Primary Education Board (SUPEB), who facilitated the siting of the borehole project at Uweifo Orthopaedic Nursing Home, due to the acute water problem, that patients of the home usually face during dry season.

Prophet Igbodo enjoined political appointees of the State Governor to always represent the governor effectively, explaining that the eyes of the governor cannot be in Asaba and at the same time be at Ughelli and Agbor; saying that the governor’s aides should do their jobs effectively as they are the eyes of the governor in their various communities”, emphasizing that this is a great opportunity for rapid and sustainable development in Ika Land. He prayed God to bless the Governor and Hon. Sunny Ogwu.

Speaking in the same vein, In a chat with Ika Weekly Newpaper Reporter,
Mr. Johnson Ashien, the community leader in Ewuru, said they are very grateful to the state government and particularly thanked His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for giving them the borehole. He also appreciated Prophet Joseph Igbodo for his prayers which actualized the siting of the project at the premises of the Uweifo Orthopaedic Nursing home.

Speaking further, he extended the community’s appreciation to Hon. Sunny Ogwu, who played an important role in bringing the state government’s project to them. The elder statesman also appreciated an illustrious son of the community, Mr. Steve Ekiri Mekiriuwa Ashien, the Publisher of Ika Weekly Newspaper, for always using his media outfit to inform the government and its functionaries of the plights of most rural communities in Ika Land.

Continuing, he stated that just like Oliver Twist, the community still asks for more of government’s presence; mostly in the area of good road network. According to him, “we sincerely solicit for the assistance of the state government to come and help reconstruct our roads; from Agbor-Obi to Aliokpu and to Agbor Nta Community.

On his part, Mr. James Chukwuma, also known as P.S Nato, one of the health personnel at the Orthopaedic home, said his thanks goes to Hon. Sunny Ogwu who attracted the water project to the community, and then to His Excellency, Senator Dr, Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State for a quality job well done. Continuing, he stated that whenever it rains, the environment of the orthopedic home is usually flooded, and appealed for the assistance of the general public, to fix interlocking tiles in the compound, so that the place can be free of water log.

He also disclosed that the management of the home will also appreciate having more buildings within the nursing home.
