DRACONIC PUNISHMENT SUITABLE IN PUTTING AN END TO RAPE AND PAEDOPHILE
By Chucks Dominic Morsi
Paedophile is an act in which a person (especially an adult) is sexually attracted to children. Rape on the other hand, is an act of forcing somebody to have intercourse with you when they do not want to but you threaten them by the use of violence just to have your way. This evil practice is done at the expense of the innocent child. She lives to suffer the trauma from a paedophilia that puts her on the harm’s way.
All said and done, the girl-child will never be the same again ever after. Last three weeks ago or so, a friend of mine came to me to report a case that happened at Owa-eke in Ika Northeast, how one of his spiritual daughters, a minor, was raped by a certain street urchin and that is sad indeed. Two weeks ago, a 60-year-old woman was raped at Edike market by a Hausa man. By the way, if not that most men are possessed, what kind of pleasure would a man derive by defiling an under aged child or intentionally having sexual activity with a minor?
Sadly, again in Agbor two weeks ago, Under Ika South, an alleged case of paedophile happened though the truth of the matter is still hinged on controversy. However, many of us are not aware that today in Ika, by research and statistics report available, HIV is at an exponential rate growing more in Agbor and amidst that, someone is finding it a pleasure to rape so as to continue the spread of the killer virus. This act of evil must be tamed by applying severe punishment or measures in other to checkmate the menace before it destroys our generation completely.
I remember back then in Lagos in the same street where I lived, there was a Calabar man an Okada rider who severally defiled his biological daughter through incest and the girl was a minor. He got the girl pregnant and later he was arrested and today he is cooling off in jail suffering the consequences of his untamed appetite for sex.
If you may recall, in 1993, the United Nations by legislation passed a law on get rid of violence against women. It remains mindboggling if not a nightmare that in today’s society, there is still a safe haven for physical and sexual abuse of all sorts which indirectly has made the enacted declaration like a titular fairy-tale somewhat. Today, everywhere you turn, women have become a sex-horse slave! Why men why?

Untamed Sexual Bestiality And Sodomy!
It does not take a whole gamut of imagination, for us to realize that immorality in its facet is unacceptable. Most especially, those held to be unnatural that include: rape, paedophilia (sexually abusing a child,) zoophilic (that is, a man or woman having affinity with animals for sex,) paraphilia or sexual deviation, which does not attract any form of reciprocal love involving same sex partnership for instance, (by extension: transgender, transvestites or cross-dressers by habit) is opposed in nature and highly condemnable.
Haven said that, it is sad to see how women, since time immemorial, generally have always borne the full adverse effects of man’s untamed sexual appetite and obsession. This is not only worrisome, but given the spate and size of menace or increasingly apparent, sexual abuses in all its form, is something that has refused to go away and by implication, many more women and under aged teenagers are fallen victims, bearing the brunt of it in full measure. This bulk evil deeds of sexual exploitation traversing continents and nations around the world, today, is not only risky, but goes to show the decline of morality, in totality, first, it is bashful and again, it represents an execrable decadence in the larger society.
According to UNICEF inference in the recent-past for example, “one in every four girls is sexually abused” in similar manner, thousands and millions of women (who are unreported) around the world, in one way or another, is daily molested or out-rightly violated. And the spate of this menace is huge and overwhelming across boards. Yet, this negative norm escalating rape and sexual abuse vices against women is a threat as much as it is a devastating factor contributing in no small measure to a woman’s constant: depression, recluse and withdrawal, suicidal tendencies, self-harming, drug abuse, and other inkling opprobrium rouse by this dreaded monster of violations, defilement and forcing of undesired sexual activities, often on a repeated basis.
Blame From Both Directions!
However, the blame I think comes from both men as well as the women. Of course, the women should take the blame more perhaps. First and foremost, for igniting this fire of rape, which sometimes lies with the provocative and immodest way of today’s dressing culture, which is clearly opposed with conventional moral values. Have you ever walked down the streets and seen those skimpy dress and bikinis, what really comes to your mind? How do you usually feel as a man? A thousand words cannot explain that. And so long as women keep wearing those little clothing, flaunting those large boobs and butts, which are very suggestive, the issue of rape might as well not be able to be brought to the barest possible decimal. And the nub of the matter here is that, in all facets, morality is declining. The society has to make a change.
Sad enough, many of the children who are often victims of rape eventually become pregnant or contacts sexually transmitted diseases as much as producing bastard kids!
You and I know too well that through this means of ‘bastardism’, insurgency and other villains emerges, escalating what is an already, a vulnerability in the larger society. Then, where do we go from here? Men, I think at this point, caution is needed and warranted.
It is painful, how these days; women have become a sex-horse slave and treated with disdain without honour, compassion, dignity, and… etcetera.
And just for the records, here is a sad but real testimony of a 14-year-old girl, which speaks volume of the silly, loathsome, despicable and abhorrent things men do these days and it’s alarming!
The worse-offs!
According to the story, “… immediately, he pushed me to the floor with so much force, overpowered me, being a taller and heftier person, he pulled my skirt and pants and raped me. I struggled with him but I didn’t succeed… he was rubbing my body against the floor, inflicting serious injuries on my body… I was gasping but he tore all my clothes, leaving me stark naked, and dragged me on the floor… I have been doing all I could to remain a virgin until I am married, but I have lost my virginity to a man I never met before and in a violent way.” what a heart rending story. And yet another:
Committing incest with a 9-year-old girl by a 73-year-old father is demonizing enough! This malevolent and flaw in our men’s character these days really call for a sullen justice. So, how can we help to prevent this menace to protect our women from the needless pains and agonies they go through every now and then? This is food for thoughts.
These peculiar sexual harassments and malaise, though there are apathy and lack of interest to deal with it in certain quarters, nevertheless, it is affecting women by the minutes, somewhere – go to our schools and elsewhere – a woman is convulsed by the agonies of rape and unabated sexual harassments.
Culled from The Punch newspaper dated September 12, 2015 (page 24), sadly runs a chronicle of a bestial act of sexual harassments and incest malevolent now pervading our land like a wide fire. The epidemic proportion of sexual molestation with regards to upsurge in child sexual abuse is not only alarming, but the trend really calls for justice upon the perpetrators.
Now this:
‘On September 7, 2015, THE PUNCH reported how a 41-year-old trader, EmekaIgwe, habitually raped his seven-year- old daughter and gave her N10 as a reward after each encounter!
His actions had so corrupted the girl psychologically that the girl had become addicted to masturbation.
In August 2015, the police in Lagos also arrested a 37-year-old lotto agent, AjiboyeOluwaseyi, for allegedly raping his two daughters – a six-year-old and a four-year-old – and his stepdaughter, 15, in Lekki area of Lagos state. Like Bisi, his stepdaughter had been raped many times before she opened up to a neighbour.
In June 2015, a 14-year-old senior secondary school year one student of AraromiIsoju Grammar School in Ikorodu, Lagos state nearly committed suicide after his 48-year-old father, Adeboye Waheed, raped her twice, taking her virginity in the process.
In April 2015, a 47-year-old man, Solomon allegedly raped her daughter.
Also in February 2015, a 45-year-old allegedly raped his 11-year-old daughter in Bauchi.
Thirty-six-year-old man, AminuAjao, was arraigned before an Ebutte-Metta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly raping and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter in January 2014.’ End of quote.
After reading those gory and fiendish or vile events, first, what shocked me was the age gap between the predators and the rape victims. Given that, suffice to say, one rape too many child abuse(s) deserving to be despised in the utmost degree and in the strongest term possible, is a satanic vice. Unfortunately, fathers have become the agents of destruction through whom Satan is unleashing such undignified evil thriving in the world today.
However, this travail must stop. And the time is now!
