A displaced trader at the former Boji Boji Owa Main Market, popularly known as Garage, Mrs. Edith Samuel is crying out to the Human Right Activist Groups and the general public for justice as she allegedly claims that she was bathed with acid by one Biggy, a member of the Ika North East Revenue Taskforce on Wednesday August 12, 2020.
She disclosed that the ugly incident took place on Abraka Road, Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North East Local Government Area.
It would be recalled that the victim in a previous publication of IKA WEEKLY NEWSPAPER; Vol 4: No 167: Saturday June 13 – Saturday June 2020 with the caption “TRADER BEATEN TO PULP BY REVENUE TASKFORCE MEMBER” the victim claimed to have been beaten up mercilessly by Biggy who ordered her to remove her caravan from the market, because of the ongoing construction even after she had paid him N5000 to stay and continue with her trading.
Narrating the ugly incident then and what would be regarded as shocking to say the least, in that publication, the victim said, “I was on my way back from the shop where I went to buy some items for my children, when Biggy surfaced with a face mask and a cap, and poured something on me.

“In pain, I quickly rushed back to the shop I was coming from and narrated the incident to the woman. Those around me said it was acid and asked the woman to quickly pour oil on my body, which she did.”
Speaking further, she alleged that prior to the incident; Biggy had earlier accosted her over a publication in Ika Weekly asking her to do a rejoinder on the said publication, which she refused. But she said Biggy threatened her that since she is being stubborn she should be ready for whatever is coming next.
“Little did I know he would carry out his word to the letter, which he did on that fateful day, because he knows I have nothing to do to him, and have none to fight for me. I have since the incident been visiting the hospital without relieve. I am in severe pains because I can neither sleep nor lie down.
“It is sad that I now find myself in this heart breaking situation, which make me wonder if there is any place for the poor in this world,” she lamented.
When asked if she had reported to the Police, she answered in the affirmative, but added that the Police Agbor Area Command asked her, to go to the hospital to treat herself first before looking into the matter.
