SHOCKING: 19 YEAR OLD GIRL FOUND DEAD IN A WELL

Tragedy struck the home of a onetime Councilor that represented Ekuku-Agbor in the Legislative Arm of Ika South Local Government, Hon. Henry Okorogo as his 19 year old first daughter, Prisca Okorogo was found dead in a well in his compound located along Onuwa Street, Agbor, on Friday, August 31, 2018
.
Speaking to newsmen, an eye witness who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed that the incidence happened between Thursday night August 30, 2018 and Friday morning. She stated that the girl was declared missing on Thursday evening by members of her family, and by Friday morning, the father was alleged to have called the deceased’s close friends and associates to know whether the girl slept in their houses, explaining that the father of the girl was heard telling some of the residents within the neighborhood that he had issues with the girl, saying that she did not give him food when he came back from work and eventually scolded the girl and she got angry and bolted away; and all efforts to know the where about of the girl proved abortive.

Continuing, the eye witness stated that by Friday morning, Hon. Okorogo, father of the deceased started asking people whether they saw his daughter. With this development, some sympathizers in the course of searching, found the clothes which she was putting on the previous day, on top of the well in her father’s compound, which was filled to the brim with water and the well was covered. With this discovery, some Hausa people were contacted to dive into the well and search for the corpse which they saw and successfully brought out of the well with a rope.

Some sympathizers who witnessed the incidence said they noticed blood and water coming out from the mouth of the girl, after she was brought out from the well.
Having recovered the body of the girl, they said the father then went to the Agbor Divisional Police Station to report the incidence, after which the officers came to the scene and took the girl’s corpse away to one of the mortuaries in Agbor; while investigation on the matter is currently on going.

According to our source, sympathizers are in shock, the reason being that the late Prisca Okorogo, was highly religious, decent, easy going and friendly within the neighbourhood. People are wondering why such a calamity should befall such a young girl of humane character.

Narrating the sad incident to Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter, Hon. Okorogo, the girl’s father lamented over the death of his daughter Prisca, describing it as a monumental loss. He said his late daughter had never been happy with herself being an asthmatic patient and as such she has always felt bad over her health condition.

According to him, “On the evening of Thursday, August 30, 2018, Prisca left the house in angry mood and when she did not return, I went searching for her but all to no avail. It was the following morning of Friday, August 31, 2018 that the clothes she put on the previous day, were seen on top of the well in our compound. On further search, her dead body was discovered in the well and the matter reported to Agbor Police Area Command where it is being investigated. However, I suspect that she must have fallen into the well.”

Hon. Okorogo when asked by the reporter if he suspected anybody to be behind the death of his daughter, responded no. In the same vein, when informed of the rumour making round that he (Hon. Okorogo) was the one behind the death of his daughter, he vehemently debunked the rumour saying he cannot kill his own daughter for any reason.

Before going to the press, efforts made to hear from the Police in Agbor Police Area Command on the matter proved abortive.
