UMUNEDE MIXED OLD STUDENTS GIVE BACK TO ALMA MATER

Encomiums and commendations rented the air as members of Umunede Mixed Old Students Association (UMOSA 2007 Set) on Monday, November 1, 2021donated exercise books and schoolbags to junior students of their alma mater, Umunede Mixed Secondary School, Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Addressing the students during the presentation at the assembly ground, Mr. Ogochukwu Boniface AKA Political, and Mr. Chika Benson, on behalf of other members of the group said they are truly elated to be among the students after many years that graduated from the school.

They disclosed that the school has produced prominent persons in society, noting that many of them are presently occupying top positions in the country.

They noted that the motive of the donation of the exercise books and school bags is borne out of the passion to encourage students and spur them to work hard in their studies, saying that it is the right thing to do.

The duo affirmed that for them (students} to make it in life, they must work hard to achieve their goal, saying that a lazy and unserious student will never accomplish anything good in life.

They enjoined the school to always reach out to the group whenever the need arises, hinting that they will at all times support and give back to their alma mater.

They advised the students to take their education seriously and be useful to their families and society in general, noting that the group will continue to support them.

Responding, the principal of the school, Pastor Eluekezie Cyril, while beaming with a smile appreciated the group for their generosity, saying that they have set the ball rolling.

He noted that with their kind gesture, others who finished from the school should emulate their footsteps and give back to the school.

The principal affirmed that the students will never forget the generosity of the group, assuring them that God will bless and reward them.

Speaking with Ika Weekly reporter shortly after the exercise, the president of the group, Mr. Michael Okechukwu Kelvin revealed that they deemed it necessary to give back to their alma mater, saying that it is the right thing to do.

He urged the students to work hard and ensure that they achieve their goals, noting that more donations are still coming in.
