The Royal Palace of Umunede Monarch, HRM, Dr. Ezeagwu Ezenwali 1 (JP), was agog on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 as the royal father held a grand party to celebrate the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon. Victor Nwokolo and Hon. Tony Elekeokwuri at the just concluded 2019 general elections. It was indeed a moment of joy and merriment as all who came were treated to delicious food and drinks with musical entertainment by Ika musical star, Gabriel Ugbekile.
In his address to the crowd, HRM, Dr. Ezeagwu Ezenwali 1 (JP), thanked the people for voting massively for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other PDP candidates in the elections, saying that the effort and hard work of his people were not in vain. He remarked that Governor Okowa has never been a failure and he will never be, describing him as a bulldozer and winner who always has the people at heart. According to him, “Okowa is a born leader whom God has ordained from birth as a great achiever. He has been successful in politics. Those who trust in God never fail.” The traditional ruler thanked James Ibori for his great support for Okowa, describing him as the pillar of PDP. He also appreciated Hilary Ibegbulem, Charles Aniagwu and others for the wonderful roles they played before and during the election, saying that he was grateful.
The monarch further urged Tony Elekeokwuri to continue to press forward and always remain committed and loyal to Okowa and other PDP bigwigs.
He also appealed to Governor Okowa to continue his good works in Umunede, saying that infrastructural development remains the basic need of any community.

Speaking with Ika Weekly reporter shortly after the occasion, residents who bared their minds, expressed optimism and trust in Okowa’s administration, saying that they have no doubt in his good reputation and ability to discharge his duty to Ika people and Deltans at large.
