A triple Chief from the ancient Agbor Kingdom in Ika South Local Government Area, Chief Sunny Ibude has appealed to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to give credit to the main campus of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor with the allocation of good courses for study.
According to Chief Ibude, “Governor Okowa has done well in using his good office to ensure the long-awaited upgrading of the College of Education, Agbor to a full-fledged university came to fulfillment. “Meanwhile, it’s good news that UNIDEL campuses will run across in the two local governments of Ika nation, Ika South and Ika North East LGAs. But the important aspect of it all is that it will develop Ika land which comprises of the two LGAs as one nation.
“Despite Agbor being the host community of UNIDEl, I want to especially appeal to Governor Okowa to make a balance in the allocation of courses in the campuses, but most importantly to give credit to the main campus of the institution with the availability of valuable courses so that the institution will be highly admired, keep it busy rather than courses that will look like an empty campus, irrespective of the fact that no course is more important than the other”.
Continuing, Chief Ibude, the Mebuzosome-Dein of Agbor Kingdom, the Odozi-Obodo of Ejeme-Aniogor Kingdom, and the Agubata of Egbudu-Akan Kingdom, stated that Agbor and Owa are the same people that makeup Ika nation. He, therefore, appealed that unity and love should continue to reign among them.
He equally appealed to the big wigs of Agbor Kingdom to meet with the Governor to further dialogue on the course allocations, emphasizing that the blessings of UNIDEL should not separate us the more, as one people and one nation.
