Members of Owa-Alizomor Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State have during the week told newsmen that they have not felt the impact of the governance of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa, the Governor of Delta State.
Speaking with newsmen, the concerned residents said in their community, there is no tarred road, no electricity, no potable water and other meaningful development as in other communities in Delta State. According to them, we defied the hot sunshine and rain to cast our votes for you and after electing you into office for your first tenure, you abandoned us. The four years tenure is over. Recently, we also supported you with our votes, for you to emerge the winner to complete your second tenure, yet nothing is being done in our community, Owa-Alizomor Community.
A NOTE FOR OKOWA,GOVERNOR DELTA STATE
No potable water as well as other meaningful infrastructural developments are in Owa-Alizomor Community as it exists in other communities in the state. According to them, “Your first four years is over yet no meaningful thing is done by you, our amiable Governor, not even a single road to remember what you used to pay to us back for voting for you.
In our community, Owa-Alizomor Community, where prominent personalities, holding prominent positions and even those who spent millions of their hard earned money to support you hail from, there is no electricity for more than six months, no functional borehole to produce water except the ones owned and managed by private persons in the community, no single road was tarred by Governor Okowa and the most annoying part of it is that they are parts of the communities that make up ward six, Owa-Alizomor Owa-Ofie and Owa-Ekei communities that have nothing to write home about.
To start with, these communities are still combined as one ward, as big as they are, while Owa-Oyibu and Owa-Alero communities that have two wards each. In Owa-Ofie community, no road is tarred except the one tarred by the Ex-governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori that leads to Owa-Oyibu. In Owa-Okei community, there is no tarred road except the double lane the governor did to his community, Owa-Alero recently; we observed that the Governor has tarred roads in all communities in Ika land including Otolokpo that did not have tarred road before now. The government has abandoned us. It is very unfortunate,” they said.
In addition, the residents said they have only four quarters in Owa-Alizomor Community and that all the roads in the community put together will not be more than 500metres. By the above notion, they appealed to the Governor to come to their aid.
