WIFE, CHILDREN ALLEGEDLY MURDER 57 YEAR OLD MAN

A 57 year old man John Abiamuweh, an indigene of Idumu – Oza in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State was allegedly murdered by his nuclear family; the wife and children on Wednesday January 15th, 2020 at his residence in Idumu- Oza. Sources close to the family revealed that the late Abiamuweh , was a commercial Motor Cycle Operator (Okada) was discovered by one of his clients who came to meet him to convey her to the market. The source said the woman called at the deceased’s residence and called out severally but when nobody responded she went into the house to see if anybody was around.

It was stated that when the woman  went in she saw the deceased lying as he was sleeping and she tried waking him up but discovered he was  cold and thereafter she pointed light on him and discovered blood on his head.

A family member who spoke in condition of anonymity stated that the family suspects their late brother’s wife and children because at a time they saw the woman carrying the children out of the community and that recently the eldest son of their late brother, Augustine Abiamuweh has developed the habit of smoking Indian hemp and moving with cultists.

The family source revealed that John Abiamuweh’s son Augustine was arrested in the neighboring community, Alihagu and was handed over to the police but was later granted bail and was asked to come back on Monday January 13, 2020.

The source further stated that when the deceased went to the Police Station that Monday, he was asked to go and settle with the Alihagu community first before coming back to the Police Station

The family member noted that prior the development, the wife of the deceased has been very a troublesome woman. The source also  claimed that the deceased  and the wife are jet to  legalized their union which  had produced six children adding that none of the family of the late Abiamuweh knows where the suspect hails from, according to the source, all they know is that she is from from Edo State.

The eldest man of the family who was around at the time. Ika Weekly visited, Mr. Felix Elueme, described the incident as a sad one as he urged the police to help fish out the murderers of his late brother.

He then prayed to God to accept the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss as he described late Abiamuweh as a gentleman. Attempt to reach the Divisional Police Officer, Agbor for confirmation proved abortive as he was said to be on official duty outside the station.
