MYSTERIOUS DEATHS: YOUTHS SHOULD GET RID OF DESIRE FOR QUICK MONEY – Osunbor

Dec 10, 2020

A native of Igbanke and a businessman, Hon. Chief Monday Ottah Osunbor, the Ikpeazu Wu Okwu of Igbanke, has disclosed that one of the reasons why youths are dying in some communities in Delta state is as a result of their inordinate quest to make quick and easy money.

He made this assertion in a chat with newsmen at his residence in Igbanke, Orhionwon Local Government Area of Edo State, recently.

Chief Osunbor said that it is unfortunate that Africans have left their culture and traditions and embraced the white man’s culture and traditions, a situation which he described as appalling. He added that every culture and tradition is unique in its own way, therefore, the black man should not throw away his way of life for another.

Osunbor noted that our ancestors worshiped God Almighty those days and He was addressed as “Osolubue,” adding that the only difference was the way and manner He was worshipped.

Continuing, the Chief said that among others, the reason why youths are dying in Ute-Okpu and Idumuesah is as a result of the desire of the youths to make quick and easy money. This, according to him incurred the wrath of the gods on humans. He pointed out that it was an error for the youths to accuse the Monarch or elders of the community for their ordeal.

Osunbor appealed to the youths of the affected communities to stop the wanton destruction of properties and liaise with their monarchs and elders to fashion out ways of solving the problem.
