47-YEAR-OLD MAN ALLEGEDLY POISONED TO DEATH

There was apprehension in Oduga Quarters in Akumazi Umuocha in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State over the sudden death of Mr. UchechukwuIkehi who is said to have been poisoned by unknown person.

When Ika Weekly Correspondent visited the family in Akumazi, friends, sympathizers and all who knew the deceased were there to condole with the bereaved family.

Late Mr. Uchechukwu Ikehi who hailed from Akumazi Umuocha before his demise was said to be living in Oba in Anambra State, died at the age of 47, and he is said to have survived by wife, and three children.

While speaking to the Press, the elder brother of the deceased, Mr. Ndidi Johnson said his late brother was a strong and hard working man who loved and cared for his family, saying that his unexpected death is indeed a huge blow to the entire family.

Mr. Ndidi affirmed that jealousy and envy crippled in when his younger brother started building a house, saying that his new found blessing and favour in the sight of God led to his sudden death.

He narrated that when his younger brother suddenly fell ill, they took him to the hospital to ascertain what was wrong.

Mr. Ndidi further disclosed that a scan was conducted by the hospital management and it was confirmed that the deceased was poisoned.

He hinted that they tried all they could to save him but to no avail, as it was said that the poison had eaten deep into his body system.

He revealed that his younger brother gave up the ghost at the wee hour of Saturday October 22, 2022.

Asked if they have anyone in mind that sent their brother to the world beyond, Mr. Ndidi replied that they have no one in mind, but said God will fight for them and expose whoever that poisoned their brother.

Mr. Ndidi Johnson disclosed that late Mr. Uchechukwu Ikehi will be laid to rest on Friday November 11, 2022 at his home town, Akumazi Umuocha.
